Cross-border e-Commerce Shoppers Driven by Low Product Price and Superior Quality: MIC
December 19, 2016

Taipei-based MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute) said that the global e-commerce buyers have reached 1.4 billion or around 19% of the world's total population, and the cross-border e-commerce will be driven mainly by low product price and superior quality, reported Commercial Times on December 19. According to MIC, the top three motivations of cross-border online shoppers are "Needs Cannot Be Met Domestically (73.3%)," "Lower Prices (62.9%)," and "Wider Product Selections (41.2%)." As cross-border e-commerce has come into formation in recent years, many retailers see it as a new channel to bypass middlemen and reach more markets. To attract overseas consumers and reduce their online shopping barrier, many e-commerce platforms begin to provide multi-language webpages and cross-border delivery services.
